Are You Tired of Circles?

posted on: 10/08/2025

Are you tired of going in circles in your life? First comes the trigger, then comes the trauma, then finally, the reaction. All bundled together you are left with your justification of why it all was deserved and the instigator becomes the target and the reason for your outburst.

Sometimes that target is your friends, your family, or worse, yourself.

In this abstract world of shapes and sizes, why do we insist on going for the circle? Why does our startpoint become our endpoint? When you consider all the possibilities in this life, imagining yourself starting where we end feels unnecessary.

There is more in life, design, and execution than repeating the same outcomes that lead us to the same endpoint every time.

It is my wish and prayer for us to end our habits, our reactions, and our outbursts that put us in the same part of the circle where began shall be a reminder that teaches us:

  1. Oftentimes, it just isn’t worth it.
Have you ever gotten into an argument with someone over a dumb comment, and you KNOW it won’t end well before it starts? If so, we need a way to stop ourselves from falling into the same trap that frustrates us (and the other person) to no end. Whether it’s a vice or an addiction, we need to find a way to add more good to our lives to the point where there is no room for what binds us and controls us into doing the same thing we don’t want to get ourselves into.
  2. Sometimes it has to be okay (when it’s not okay)
In one of my darkest seasons, I heard this exact phrase from the Holy Spirit (in my faith our conscious or inner voice is from the spirit as opposed to the universe, nature, etc.). The idea is to find a way to move past [and through] the storm, not away from it.
  3. We are inherently flawed and we will fall again.
The annoyance, the comfort, and the beauty in our inability to be perfect is that we don’t have to be. Grace is here so that we are pucked up when we fall (knowing that we WILL fall again and again). We can always start again, always renew, always ask for forgiveness, reset, apologize, repent, and not condemn ourselves into oblivion.

With all that being said, today may end in a circle, but tomorrow will be a new shape where you go forward and see where it leads you. May the shape be as abstract and beautiful as the natural world we live in. May your mind always be renewed and focused on things above and not below. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen and amen.

Best,

Sammy
