Funded by Craig Newmark and in partnership with Facebook and Google, The Trust Project has set out to put an end to #FakeNews. The initiative emphasizes reader rights to accuracy and transparency about news sources, representing the beginning of news conformity with higher standards.

The Trust Project — funded by Craig Newmark, in partnership with Facebook and Google — counters misinformation by asserting a reader's right to know where their news comes from. A mission that visible needs a site that's authoritative and neutral at once.
We designed the site to carry the mission plainly — what transparency in news means, what the project asks of newsrooms, and why readers should care — without jargon or alarmism, keeping a complex multi-stakeholder initiative easy to follow.
A clear, credible public home for the initiative — explaining a complex press-transparency mission in plain terms, and reading as authoritative and neutral to the several audiences it serves, from readers to the newsrooms it asks to change.
