Best Web Designers in Asheville, NC (2026): An Honest Guide

·Web Design, Small Business

Picking a web designer in Asheville is harder than it should be. There are a lot of us for a city this size. Most of our websites say the same things. And almost nobody tells you what anything costs until you get on a call.

So here is an honest list. I run one of these studios, which I will say plainly: Elfatrany Design is on this list, and I wrote it. I have tried to be as straight about my own limits as everyone else's. Every fact below comes from each studio's own website, checked in October 2026, and the Google ratings come from Google Maps the same week.

How I picked and compared them

Five things matter more than a pretty portfolio:

  • Published pricing. Can you tell if they fit your budget before you talk to anyone?
  • Reviews. What do real clients say on Google?
  • Platform. WordPress, Wix, Shopify or custom. This decides who can edit and maintain your site later.
  • Accessibility. Does the studio build to accessibility standards? It matters for ADA risk and for the people using your site.
  • Who you work with. A solo designer, a husband-and-wife shop, or a full team. None is better. It depends on what you need.

This is not a ranking. Each studio is best for a different kind of business.

Asheville web designers worth considering

Elfatrany Design (that's me)

Best for: small businesses, practices and nonprofits that want a custom site built to accessibility standards, and one person who answers every email.

  • Google: 5.0 from 16 reviews
  • Pricing: custom sites $4,500 to $15,000, care plans from $255/mo, all published. There is also a free website cost calculator that gives you a ballpark in a couple of minutes, before you ever talk to me
  • Platforms: custom (Next.js), WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Squarespace and Wix
  • Accessibility: yes, ADA and WCAG audits and fixes are a core service
  • Experience: work for the United Nations, the U.S. Department of State, USAID, NGOs like IESC, and Fortune 500 companies like Facebook
  • Team: just me, Sammy. Started in New York City in 2011, in Asheville since 2021, working out of Switchyards on Coxe Ave

What I like: You talk to the person who designs and builds your site. Prices are on the website, and the calculator shows your number up front. You get the standards I learned working with the UN, NGOs and Fortune 500 teams, at a local small business scale. Accessibility is built in, not bolted on.

Worth knowing: I am one person, so I take on a limited number of builds at a time. If you need a $1,000 template site, I am not the right fit, and Griffin below may be.

Integritive

Best for: businesses that want a full team handling design, marketing, ads and e-commerce under one roof.

  • Google: 4.9 from 66 reviews
  • Pricing: not published (they offer a free website audit)
  • Platforms: WordPress and Shopify
  • Accessibility: yes, ADA accessibility is listed as a service
  • Team: about nine people, including project managers, designers and developers. 20+ years in business, offices in Asheville and Charlotte

What I like: A complete in-house team and the most reviews of any studio here.

Worth knowing: No published pricing, so expect a sales call before you know if it fits your budget.

Griffin Web Design & Marketing

Best for: budget-conscious small businesses and nonprofits.

  • Google: 5.0 from 14 reviews
  • Pricing: published. 5-page template site $1,095, 5-page custom site $2,895, nonprofit discounts
  • Platforms: custom and template sites, WordPress as a $395 add-on
  • Accessibility: not mentioned on their site
  • Team: in business 24 years (since 2000), office on S. Lexington Ave by appointment

What I like: The most complete public price list in town, and real discounts for nonprofits and animal rescues.

Worth knowing: Being able to edit the site yourself in WordPress costs extra on top of the custom build.

Blue Dozen Design

Best for: businesses that want a mid-budget WordPress site and training to run it themselves.

  • Google: 4.7 from 40 reviews
  • Pricing: published range, most projects $2,500 to $5,000, branding from about $800
  • Platforms: WordPress
  • Accessibility: not offered as a service on their site
  • Team: in business since 1999, meetings by appointment

What I like: Twenty-seven years in business, an honest price range and WordPress training with every site.

Worth knowing: WordPress only, and accessibility is not part of what they sell.

Joe Web Site Design + SEO

Best for: small businesses that want a simple, low-maintenance brochure site.

  • Pricing: published. From $3,250 for up to 6 pages with first-year hosting and basic SEO, then $250/yr hosting
  • Platforms: their own file-based system, deliberately not WordPress
  • Accessibility: pages "designed to meet accessibility and SEO standards"
  • Team: a husband-and-wife team building small business sites since 1995

What I like: Clear all-in pricing and very low running costs. No plugins to update.

Worth knowing: Because it runs on their own system, moving to another developer later is harder than with WordPress.

Thrive Design Co.

Best for: established service businesses and restaurants that want brand strategy and a polished Wix site.

  • Google: 5.0 from 26 reviews
  • Pricing: published. Signature custom website from $6,500, larger systems $10,000+, updates $125/hr
  • Platforms: Wix
  • Accessibility: "accessibility-conscious" best practices in the main package
  • Team: a solo designer and Asheville native, working since about 2020

What I like: Detailed, honest package pricing, with strategy and SEO groundwork in every site. You work with the designer directly.

Worth knowing: Wix only, and the highest published starting price on this list. After two weeks of support, updates are hourly.

White Fox Studios

Best for: WordPress sites that need steady monthly support plus SEO and ads.

  • Google: 5.0 from 47 reviews
  • Pricing: build price not published, VIP support plan $200/mo
  • Platforms: WordPress
  • Accessibility: not offered as a service on their site
  • Team: a mostly remote team, 12+ years in business, offices in Asheville and Waynesville

What I like: WordPress specialists with a flat, published support plan and SEO in-house.

Worth knowing: No published build pricing, and the team is mostly remote.

Which one should you call?

  • Tight budget or a nonprofit: Griffin or Blue Dozen.
  • Simple site you never want to think about: Joe Web.
  • A full team for design, ads and e-commerce: Integritive.
  • A brand-led Wix site: Thrive Design Co.
  • Ongoing WordPress support: White Fox Studios.
  • Custom site built to accessibility standards, one person start to finish: that is what I do at Elfatrany Design.

Whoever you pick, ask three questions before you sign. What will it cost, in writing? Who will I actually talk to every week? And what happens to my site after launch?

I believe in giving value up front, before anyone spends a dollar. Two ways to start:

  • Want a number first? Try the website cost calculator. No email required.
  • Run a local business in Asheville? I do a free local SEO audit: your Google Business Profile, listings and website, walked through on a 30-minute call. This one is for Asheville-area businesses only, because local search is where I can help most. And if someone else on this list is a better fit for you, I will tell you.

Hope this helps.
